Bath and Body works

As you know already I am pregnant and pregnant women sometimes tend to do crazy things like wake up really early and go shopping. Today I woke up at 7am, got my pre-schooler ready for school, dropped her off sadly : ( and decided to take off to the mall. I really didnt want anything specific but I knew I was going to end up either buying something from Victoria's secret or Bath and Body Works. The Victoria's Secret here in Lawton really sucks so I passed on that. Bath and Body Works is a much more interesting store at least here in Lawton, OK. Anyways, I wanted to let you know about my new favorite Bath and Body Works body signature line. I usually use the Sea cotton collection because of it's clean smell. Today though I found my new favorite! It's the Moonlight Path collection. I bought the Body spray, body lotion and got a shower gel for free. The Body spray lasts for about an hour until it starts to fade away but common its a body spray. Im so in love with it I want to get the fragrance. I 100% recommended the line, you really have nothing to loose. I used to love Victoria's Secret body sprays but lately they have disappointed me. All of their scents are too sweet and I hate smelling like candy. Bath and Body Works have more variety in body sprays. You are probably asking why I am reviewing a body spray, lol. Well I can't stand not smelling like anything good. Plus, after I shower I always like spraying something on myself and I really hate spraying my expensive perfumes just to go to bed. So bath and body works two thumbs up!!!

I will have a review on the C.O. Bigelow Microdermabrasion scrub up soon...

Just wanted to share a couple pics...

These pictures I am about to share with you are pictures of my bare face. No makeup no editing. I took the pictures with my macbook so they might look a little pixely. I only wanted you to see my acne scars. Diorsnow is helping me so much, I am starting to see the effects but I know it will take more than one jar to completely see the full effectiveness of the whitening range. so let me stop blabbing here are my pictures... : (

Where to go and where not to go in Lawton, OK

This post is for anyone that decides to visit the ugly town of Lawton, OK. My husband is in the military so this is why I am here, otherwise I would probably be living in Orlando, FL. It's going to be a year since I arrived at this military town. My experience here has been bittersweet. The Fort Sill post sucks really bad if you're gonna compare it to a base like Fort Hood, TX. The PX please, do not even try it. Usually, the PX is supposed to be a good experience well not here in Oklahoma. I think I can go around the PX in 5 minutes and come out bag less. The food court is ok, the shoppettes ( gas stations/stores) are nicely kept. Housing looks nice on post but only the neighborhoods that are new. The old neighborhoods are located near the busy traffic and weirdly by the PX, which yes it's convenient but mostly single soldiers hang out there. This post is a training post, so this means we have new soldiers that are going through basic and AIT. The town outside Fort Sill is Lawton, OK. Lawton is the ugliest town I have ever seen. I thought I saw ugly when I lived in Texas for a year. This by far is the leader on my list of ugly towns. Housing here is very rare, by rare I mean people like to live like pigs and do not like to maintain their homes. When you look around for houses for rent, some of them claim to have updated the homes but actually look like they still belong in the 50's. Some places you should stay away from if happen to move to Lawton are:

Reynolds Army Community Hospital
Chinese restaurants
Korean Restaurants
Perfect 10 nails (treated me like I was crap)
The Lawton mall (horrible place that offers no fun shopping)
Summit Village Apartments ( nice looking from the inside but way overpriced)
Any houses for rent near the Lawton Airport ( a lot of bum activity)

Places to check out:

Qhanah Parker Wal-Mart
A nail place inside the mall ( best nail place hands down)

I will Update the list soon....

First Ever BB cream

Oh no I didn't!, well yes I did! I finally purchased a bb cream. For months I have been pondering on whether or not to buy a bb cream. BB creams tend to be too white and would not work on my type of skin tone. Lioele, a Korean cosmetics company has come up with a BB cream that transforms to your skin color upon contact. Similar to what Almay's smart shade foundation does when it comes to contact with your skin. When I purchased this BB cream I put a small amount as you can see, lol. At first I didn't really like the color because it looked ashy but I've worn it for a week now and I freaking love it. The coverage is perfect, better than using a tinted moisturizer. All I use is the Lioele pore balm before putting the BB cream, then I put the BB cream on and then I just powder some MAC Sheer pressed powder in NC40. I do not need concealer or anything else, this stuff is AMAZING!! My previous review was just like an initial review and I wasn't really justifying the product right. I have acne scars like crazy, this BB cream makes them look less red and I actually feel pretty without wearing a pound of makeup. The smell is wonderful and the packaging is so cute. I only think it looks bigger on the website but when I got it I saw how tiny it was. Anyways, the product is amazing, wonderful and I see myself purchasing more of this in the future. If you have any questions just ask me, or help me improve my post!

Review:
Packaging 5/5
Texture    5/5
Smell        5/5
Color        2/5
Coverage  4/5

Thank you all!!

A pic of muah with my BB cream on... not bad right?

My vanity table

This post will be short because theres not that much to say until my vanity is completed, but I am so excited to share with you how this german antique came to me. I am completely changing the entire look and hope it turns out to look good. This is my first time ever painting or refinishing a piece of furniture. I enjoy being hands on and love getting dirty but I enjoy the designing aspect. I have had this idea for months and last week I told my husband I wanted the vanity. I bought it off of craigslist for $150. So far we've spent $70 on paint and materials. I think I could've gone to IKEA and gotten the Edland dressing table for $199 but I am having so much fun painting and I am grateful my wonderful hubby is fixing it up for me. Not as fast as I want but he's working on it, he is in the army so cant really ask for more of his time. This of course gives it more of a personal sentiment because he's working so hard to make it look good, I will forever cherish it.Anyways, when I finish putting it together and I've set it up in the bedroom I will take pictures. For now, here are the pictures I've taken so far.
                                                     Then:
                                                     Now:

Te amo Fael!!!!
New Pic:

Yay Im done with my Vanity! It has taken me 1 1/2 weeks to finish the vanity. As you know, I sanded, primed, and painted it black. The knobs were replaced because I wanted to add something modern looking to this antique. Some bling wont hurt, LOL. The wooden appliques were bought at lowes for $20. So all in all, I spend a total of $230 in material to re-purpose this vanity. Could I have bought a brand new spanking Ikea Edland makeup table? Yes but I had so much fun doing this because I made it my own. To finalize this post, here is a picture of my finished vanity table.

Going back to my first love

So, I have always been a Christian Dior Lover. Ever since I can remember I've always admired everything Dior and Chanel. But Dior has always been my preferred designer. Growing up in New York for part of my childhood, I grew to love fashion and the environment that surrounds it. Anyways, so of course I have never had the pleasure of wearing anything Dior, maybe one day..lol. But I have bought skincare and makeup and let me tell you it is the best feeling in the world. Forget MAC, MUFE or any brand that makes you look like a drag queen. I used to use MAC and never again, I think I rather use something from the drug store than MAC. Dior on the other hand is so luxurious, light feeling, and the smell is wonderful. I know some people will not agree with me but I think its worth every penny.

Now the skincare is also superb in my opinion. Dior saved my skin from dehydration last summer and I really cannot tell you why I left Dior in the winter...lol. I started using Philosophy (which is pretty good by the way) and simply forgot to look into other Dior skin products. If you have read my post on Lancome, you should know I am disappointed at Lancome. After using Primordiale for almost 2 months I have seen no improvement in the tone or clarity of my skin. It is just an OKAY moisturizer. I think I had better results from the Dior Hydraction sorbet creme, which I think I will buy just for the heck of it. Yeah its that good!!! that I will just buy it just because I like it. But what I want to let you know is that I am going to try the Diorsnow range. Yes, I know it's targeted towards asian women but hey I want to see if this would actually be good for Latinas also. Im testing this for my Spanish sistahs. So if youre a spanish chick with my same issues, follow me on this journey! Dior here I come, please save me again!

Update:
I got my Diorsnow white reveal creme and the Diorsnow rich toner #2. I dont have the cleanser or the essence yet but soon will get it. I am very excited to let you guys know how this works on my skin, since i'm latina. I'll be back in a month to give you a review.

IM BACK WITH MY REVIEW!

I have tried DiorSnow for a month now and I am happy to share that it has improved the texture of my skin. Has it lighten my acne marks..hmm I think its too early to say but you can definitively see an improvement in clarity. The texture of my skin is amazing despite the fact I have acne scars all over my cheeks. Maybe one of these days I will be brave enough to post some of my acne pictures. Which kinda reminds me of a review (more like a warning) on what caused my hormonal acne... (cough, cough, MIRENA!!!!)

One thing I am certain about is that DiorSnow alone will not get rid of my marks completely. I am actually considering getting a chemical peel and microdermabrasion to help boost the effectiveness of any products I choose to use in the future. Now, as you know I am hispanic and the products I am using are targeted towards Asian women. The main question I asked myself when considering buying these products was, Will it even work on my skin? well, I think skin is just skin no matter what ethnicity you are. I think it is fair to say that there are people with oily, combo, dry skin but I dont believe theres a specific black skin or hispanic skin. Obviously, Diorsnow a skincare range targeted towards asian women is showing improvement in my hispanic skin. For my fellow Latin sisters, will Diorsnow work you? Yes! why not? Go ahead try it, dont be scared! If anybody has any questions please just ask.

My current status on foundations

I've been using foundations for years. My first foundation ever was Loreal's true match, and that was my foundation for like 3 years. The coverage was excellent, the color matched me great but something happened in my life where my skin's tone and texture changed. My first pregnancy was life changing both in a negative and positive sense. I wont get into it but the one negative that has been bothering me for a long time is the change in the tone, clarity, and texture of my skin. Lately, I haven't been able to find a foundation that can match my skin, like true match used to. I even bought true match again and it didn't work as well as when I was 18. Now I'm 24 and i'm struggling with finding a foundation that can cover past acne scars and hyper pigmentation. Anyways, last year I bought Diorskin Forever. I loved it because first of all my skin had no acne scars or marks and secondly, I had a FLA girl tan and the color of the foundation was just perfect. Now i'm pregnant with my second child and stay home all the time because I am living in Lawton, OK where it gets extremely hot (113 degrees) and I just cant take the heat. So, this Dior foundation isnt matching quite well anymore, last time I was at a dior counter the makeup lady told me anything lighter would make me look ashy. For reference my current dior color is 040 which is too dark for me. Not knowing what to do I bought MAC studio fix fluid and was matched with an NC42, I think its dark on me. Personally, MAC is not my favorite makeup brand. Way too oily for my skin and its just nasty how it feels on the skin. Also, its summertime and I dont want anything heavy on my face. This is why I thought DIOR would be perfect because its so light. Now the whole point of this post is to let you know my current status on foundations. Im still in search for the perfect foundation but Im becoming very impatient. If any of you have any suggestions for me please just comment below.

Thank you,

Emma

First Lancome Experience

The Lancome Primoridiale skin recharge moisturizer promises smooth skin, renews skin vitality and restores its youthful look. I have to say I give this moisturizer 5 stars. My skin was in bad shape before using it and it has actually made me look more awake. I have always known the sun is extremely damaging to the skin, in fact, it can even damage your vision. A little off topic but anyways, Primordiale moisturizer is a great moisturizer that I think I will repurchase when the time comes around. I have only been using it for 2 weeks and my skin is so smooth and it just looks more rested. I really like that it contains SPF 15 but I dont think it fully protects me from the sun. The ideal SPF is 50, anything higher will not protect you better than a 50. The SPF on this moisturizer is still greatly appreciated, but just make sure you add something higher on top. One thing I will point out is that since I have past acne scars due to birth control ( separate topic I will talk about on a different post) I have been considering using a whitening/brightening line. My experience with Lancome is fairly new but as of now I am not 100% satisfied.

My disappointment has been with the Genefique night creme. The smell is good, the texture is gel like I would say, the packaging is beautiful, but I seriously feel like I need more moisture after I put on this moisturizer at night. I have to say my skin is combination/oily and for some reason this night cream feels light. I actually hate this moisturizer. Im still currently using it and still havent seen anything improvement. The night cream only makes you look rested and for $90 something dollars I dont think the results are worth it. I don't just want to achieve a rested look, I want everything they promise wrinkle reduction, etc... because again it is $90 something bucks. Last thing I want everyone to know is the creme to oil cleanser for all types from Lancome is so bad it made my skin red. Seriously, this cleanser was so bad I had to throw it away. I couldn't exchange it because I lost the receipt. So, you guys have been warned! Genefique and Lancome creme to oil cleanser suck really bad!!! Dior here I come!!!!!!!!!!
